Commercial No. 3 Russian 3rd Model manufactured from 1874 to 1878 with this example distributed through Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, bearing "SH" within diamond stamp on butt. Nickel finished with 6 - 1/2" ribbed barrel marked on top with 1-line address terminating in "RUSSIAN MODEL". Pinned half moon front sight and u-notch rear. 6-shot cylinder chambered for .44 S&W Russian. Characteristic round butt frame marked on left side "1874" within rectangle and mounted with spur trigger guard. Grips are 2-piece plain walnut with lanyard loop mounted to butt. Revolver is accompanied by an older leather flap holster. PROVENANCE: The Hank Williams Jr. Collection, with a copy of a LoA accompanying this lot. CONDITION: Fine. Vast majority of the original nickel finish is retained with some flaking and loss, especially on cylinder. Grips are very good showing light impressions throughout. Very good bright bore and crisp mechanics. Matching assembly numbers observed on grip frame, cylinder, and catch. Left grip numbered in pencil with last 3 digits of serial number with full number stamped inside of right grip. Holster is good. BAS
