Lot consist of: (A) J.M. Marlin Co. Model Ok single shot derringer. Made late 1860s. Marked "OK" on the top of the barrel. Matching serials on the top of bottom of the barrel, inside of the left grip panel, and on the back of the left grip. Half round, half octagon barrel with German silver front sight. Barrel is blued iron, with the frame being brass (once silver plated). Oiled rose wood grips on a birds head butt. CONDITION: Metal retains none of its original finishes, with the barrel forming a heavy brown patina. Brass is tarnished, with some oxidation on the interior of the grip straps. Grips have some minor cracking on the interior sides. Chip on the left panel, top corner. Pitted bore with good overall rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. (B) Marlin First Model derringer. Sometimes called the "baby vest pocket". Made 1860s. Matching serials on the barrel, butt and inside of the grip straps. Two part barrel with no sights. Barrel is blued iron. Frame is brass, most likely being silver plated at some point. Lacquered wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its bluing on the barrel, with brown patina mixing in. Frame has tarnish, with no signs of polishing. Frosted smooth bore with some pitting. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. JWA
