This needlepoint casket depicts beautiful outdoor scenes along with many different animals, circa 1660. Skelton key unlocks the top portion of the box lined in a pink silk. Middle section of box opens up to three small drawers and a large bottom drawer. A small nail shaped button inside of middle section releases a latch, allowing you to remove a portion of the box and reveal a secret compartment of three small drawers. On the bottom of the box there is a sticker from "Frank Partridge & Sons Ltd". For it's age, this stumpwork casket is in good condition. There appears to be repairs to many hinges throughout. This comes with a custom made UV protective glass display case. Stumpwork Box measures 11 - 1/4"H x 12"W x 9 1/2"D. Glass Case: 13 - 1/8"H x 18"W x 16"D.
