Measures 17" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Shinogi zukuri form with yokote polished out, shallow iori mune, 2 character bonji horimono on right side of blade. Silver foil copper habaki. Nakago with kurijiri nakagojiri, single mekugi-ana, and two character signature reading Nagamitsu. Fuchi and kashira depicting dragons on a roe ground. No tsuka ito, but 2 panels of rayskin. Plain tsuba. Saya with no koiguchi, and a kogai that was likely made as a tourist piece as it is cast and of lesser quality. CONDITION: Blade is out of polish with even scattered oxidation and some openings in the steel along the shinogi. Mounts have numerous handling marks throughout but are solid. Saya is missing a koiguchi and has a 5 - 3/8" long split along spine and face. Some scrapes and lifting of lacquer. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. EMW
