Manufactured in 1862 during the Civil War in classic configuraton. Blued .31 caliber rifled 4" octagonal barrel with cone front sight and New York address. 6-shot percussion cylinder roll stamped with stage coach holdup scene. Silver-plated brass grip straps with 1-piece smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel assembly has been partially cleaned with the left side retaining significant amounts of original blued finish fading to a gray patina with some evidence of older oxidation. Frame also retains portions of fading case colors. Nitre blue visible on some small parts. Grip straps exhibit a pleasing mustard patina with a few traces of patinaed silver plate. Grips are very fine, showing some light finish loss and impressions. Shootable bore. Cylinder does not rotate when hammer is pulled back. Full or partial matching numbers observed throughout. BAS
