Originally designed in the 1920s, the Olympia target pistol was perfected for use in the infamous 1936 Berlin Olympic Games and was produced through 1944. This Schnellfeuer variation designed for the Olympic Rapid Fire Match is chambered in the lighter .22 Kurz (short) cartridge with an aluminum alloy slide to aid in cycling. Otherwise standard blued BUG proofed 7 - 3/8" barrel with target front sight and dovetail square notch rear. Classic "WALTHER" banner and manufacturer markings found on the left of the slide. Pistol is fit with a pair of checkered walnut wraparound thumb rest grips. Complete with a felt lined wood case and 2 "43" numbered frame weights. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and frame retain the majority of their factory applied finish with some wear, especially along high edges and the muzzle. Slide retains traces of finish with balance cleaned to a silvery patina. Grips are sharp with some finish loss and minor marks. Very fine bright bore displaying well defined rifling. Case has some external scuffs and areas of damage to the liner. BAS
