Circa 1930 British Army, Scottish Division King’s Own Scottish Borderers Captain’s dress uniform jacket and trousers. The jacket is constructed of scarlet cloth with white trim and navy blue and gold highlights on the sleeves. Interior features an off white quilted lining. The jacket features 7 King’s Own Scottish Borderers buttons at the center with 3 on each sleeve. The buttons are marked ”PITT & CO.” with correct London address on the reverse. Braided epaulettes which bear the rank of captain are attached to each shoulder with nice bullion insignia complimenting the high collar. The waist features brass belt hooks in order to accommodate a belt. Velvet and cloth sash is affixed under the left epaulette. Tartan pattern trousers which retain their original manufacturer label and are named to “GGM Batchelor / 233348” and dated “Sept 193...” This set requires further research. CONDITION: The uniform is very clean overall and does not exhibit any major mothing or blemishes. Waistline of the trousers have yellowed. Overall very good.
