Navy Luger masterfully built and modified by John Martz. Receiver is of Mauser construction, with the chamber area being blank and the right side exhibiting illegible Mauser waffenamts. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. The left side of the frame bears Martz's "MSTR" stamp above the takedown lever, with Martz's signature encircled "JM" stamp present beneath the sideplate. Frame has been modified, now including Martz Safe Toggle Release system, which simultaneously releases the toggle assembly from the hold-open device and engages the safety bar, simply by moving the safety lever from the fire to safe position when the toggle is locked to the rear. Major metal components are polished in-the-white, with some smaller components including the takedown lever, trigger, magazine release button, and safety lever being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Excellent, as professionally finished and modified, with metal components exhibiting a lustrous in-the-white polished finish, showing some spots of hardened grease overall. Left side of frame toggle "ear" exhibits some scattered nicks and dings. Strawed components show some spots of light wear, but are otherwise fine. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips exhibit mild smoothing, with a couple small nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise excellent. An attractive and desirable Martz custom Navy Luger, modified with Martz' ingenious Safe Toggle Release system. MLW
