See "British Military Pistols and Associated Edged Weapons" pg. 145 for a nearly identical example. Round barrel, nominally of musket bore, with offset British proofs at breech consisting of a crown over crossed pennants, A crown over an inverted T and a correctly oriented R, and an inverted Broad Arrow, retained by pins. Barrel tang marked with "(Crown) / 14". Slightly convex lock with bridled pan, swan neck cock, and marked "TOWER" in an arc at rear, a crowned GR for Georgius Rex, and a crown over broad arrow. Double bolts with a brass serpentine sideplate. Steel ramrod with a trumpet head and slotted rear in a ferrule with a reinforced mouth that is actually cast as one piece and containing a retaining spring. Short brass trigger guard. Nearly full length stock with a bag grip. CONDITION: Overall very good, carefully cleaned in the European fashion with an even chocolate oxidation and flashes of dove grey throughout. Lock with less oxidation with barrel and more of a bright silver color. Stock is very good with some handling marks and impressions throughout, a few chips around the front barrel retaining pin, at rear of lock, and barrel tang. Split down ramrod channel, approximately 4 - 3/8". Mechanically fine, bore is very good with some minor corrosion. EMW
