Possibly Brunswick. The tapered 3-stage barrel is stamped on the left side of the breech with a key and a pine tree. Tang engraved "CN / 55". The flat lockplate has beveled edges, tail engraved "CN / 55" vertically. Early unbridled pan. Brass furniture including a French 1733 style trigger guard, a Brunswick style sideplate, and pommel cap with full stirrups: pommel cap inscribed "R-5 / CN". Walnut stock with relief teardrop behind barrel tang. Wooden ramrod is a replacement. CONDITION: Barrel retains a dark patina, some pitting near touch hole. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration, cock does not hold. Brass retains a dark mustard patina. Front 7" of forend replaced. A very attractive Germanic Revolutionary War cavalry pistol. DMG
