AGS CERTIFIED #10031. DSP. Sign is Dated 1929. A well displaying example of this seldom seen Porcelain Service Station Sign from Shell advertising "Chassis & Motor Lubrication" with unique Shell colors and Clamshell shape. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color & gloss throughout the field with some minimal areas of minor chipping as well as some light stain markings. Side one shows minimal outer field wear with chipping at each of the mounting holes. The outer edge of side one shows some light chipping and black markings, some of which may remove, (Score 83). Side two is overall very good showing good color & gloss with some minimal areas of chipping in the field as well as light areas of low gloss in the lower field. Side two shows chipping at each mounting hole as well as some moderate edge chipping, (Score 76). A well displaying example of this early piece from Shell.
