Lot consists of: (A) Circa 1790-1810 British Naval Dirk which features a curved, single edged blade with a 5 - 1/2" false edge. Brass open work crossguard with teardrop cross quillon. Rounded bird head pommel with backstrap and ferrule that secures a line engraved bone grip. Complete with its leather scabbard that features nicely scalloped brass mounts. Upper mount accommodates a carry ring and stud. CONDITION: Blade exhibits a mild gray patina with scattered freckling. Handle exhibits a decent amount of original gilding. Grip exhibits handling wear. Scabbard mounts exhibit a fair amount of original gilding with creases and cracks to the scabbard body. (B) Napoleonic era naval dirk with a double edged spear point blade. Ovular steel crossguard with square pommel and line engraved bone grip. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a gray patina with scattered freckling. Crossguard exhibits areas with light surface rust. Bone grip exhibits handling wear and a significant crack that travels its length. Both dirks were formerly part of the Allan Klein Collection.
