Manufactured 1913. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight; "H" at top of retaining plate channel. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information, last patent date August 1913. Uncircled pony at rear. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on left side of dust cover, very faint Penfield proof above magazine release. Right side of frame with serial number. Barrel with "5" proof on hood, "5" in front of locking lug. Recoil spring with added shock buff. Top of frame with "H" and "5" near disconnector hole. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, later phosphate coated thumb safety, relief mill cut slide relase, short 1911 grip safety. Mixed grips, left scale with "ROY V. FOEMAN" incised on interior; right scale is Keyes without reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine with "G" on lip. Accompanied by a modern Plano 1 pistol plastic case with a modern Colt 30745 magazine. CONDITION: Gun has been reparkerized and chemically cleaned, with slide retaining the vast majority of the parkerization with some light visible peppering under the slide. Legends slightly softened. Frame shows evidence of a chemical cleaning, with some pitting under the grips, heavily softened legends with Penfield proof nearly gone. Mechanically fine, bore with sharp grooves and frosting in lands. A neat gun that shows hard use.
