Made by Burnside Rifle Company Providence, Rhode Island between 1863 and 1865. 22" round blued barrel marked "CAST STEEL 18xx": with front blade sight and flip rear sight. Case hardened 5th Model action with center action screw marked on receiver "BURNSIDE'S PATENT / MODEL OF 1864". Plain walnut stock with matching walnut forearm. CONDITION: Metal has turned a silvery brown patina with some surface discoloration. Wood has dry appearance with usage marks and dings. Good bore with crisp mechanics.
