The North West Canada Medal is a British campaign medal awarded to soldiers, volunteers, and North-West Mounted Police personnel who participated in suppressing the North-West Rebellion in 1885. The medals were issued unnamed and are mostly encountered with private engravings. The lot consists of: (A) North West Canada Medal privately engraved in block capitals to "WILLIAM STEWART B.M.I.". A tag is affixed to the reverse ribbon with Stewart's name. CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall. (B) North West Canada Medal privately stamped in thin capitals to "PTE. FRED K. PAINE F. CO. MID-BATT". CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall.
