Manufactured 1948. Thick blade front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. Left side with single line manufacturer informaton, right side with Super 38 rollmark. Frame with serial number, subinspector proofs. This example is of the so-called "fat barrel" variation where the .38 Super barrel has the same OD as the .45 ACP barrels, a cost saving measuring that Colt did to use up compatible parts left over from World War II. Fibre grips, left scale with raised Keyes markings. Full blue magazine with .38 Super rollmark on baseplate. CONDITION: Overall very good, retaining the vast majority of the reapplied blue finish. Colt legends on slide are soft and it appears that someone attempted to retrace the legends. Some silvering to high edges and operational areas, including normal takedown mark. Edges of straps with heavier silvering and straps are essentially gunmetal grey. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling.
