Manufactured circa 1916 in standard configuration for the "Remington Small Bore Military rifle" with 30" barrel chambered in 7mm Mauser, blade front sight, and 1902 type rear sight. Likely manufactured for exportation from the US to a South American country for military use. Matching serial numbers observed on inside stock channel and top receiver tang underneath woodline, and matching assembly numbers on top and bottom receiver tangs underneath woodline. 2 piece walnut stock and forearm with military style buttplate. Complete with Remington No. 5 Short Export Bayonet. CONDITION: Excellent, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining with minor handling marks and light freckling, with nosecap showing more wear than the rest of the gun. Frame shows bright original case colors with fading and freckling on the left side. Stock and forearm are in matching condition as cleaned with no major signs of distress and handling marks. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Bayonet is a speckled dark gray patina with heavy wear to handle.
