Circa 2000. This 20 bore best Scottish built game gun with a round bodied action is built with 28" London nitro proofed blacked demi-bloc over/under barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, and are fit with a hand filed narrow top rib. Rib with small round brass front bead. Top barrel on left reads "DAVID MCKAY BROWN GUNMAKER BOTHWELL SCOTLAND". Barrel flat with "7673" (gun's serial number), "LP / 98", "O", "U", "20" in diamond, "70MM", "950 BAR", and "15.6". Chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. McKay Brown's signature rounded frame trigger plate action is coin finished and built with a single inertia trigger and auto-safe. "SAFE" in gold. Safe slide is checkered. Action and hardware is handsomely and elegantly engraved with vines, flowers, and with "DAVID MCKAY BROWN" in gold. Bottom action with a standing grouse calling and another crouched beneath. Trigger guard with matched scroll engraving extends to a full length bottom strap also engraved with gun serial number "7673". Engraving executed by Creative Arts as engraved on right hand side of trigger plate. Marbled European walnut stock with sharply checkered semi-pistol grip, vacant gold oval, and is finished with a checkered butt. Game forend with matching engraved pin, escutcheon, and exterior iron metal. Beautiful gun rests in its lightweight leather case with canvas outer cover "A.K." on tablet. Case is fit with brass and wood snap caps, cleaning tools and oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain 99% of their original color. Triggers and ejectors are excellent, top barrel does not fire. Stock and forend excellent. Case excellent. Great guns, like new. Please note that this lot and the previous lot are sequentially serial numbered.
