Circa 1927. A boxlock game gun with 26" blacked steel barrels. Barrels are furnished with 2 - 1/2" chambers, ejectors, and a wide filed tapered concaved rib. Rib fit with a small round front bead sight. Rib extension with lock up for cross bolt. Grey patina boxlock action with scroll engraving, side clips, cross bolt, top lever with right hand checkered thumb, serrated safe slide. "S" in gold and double triggers. Chokes are Full in left and Improved Cylinder in right. Gun is built with auto-safe. Side walls of action are engraved "A. FRANCOTTE MAKER AND PATENTEE", "LIEGE BELGIUM". Blacked engraved trigger guard extending to long bottom strap engraved with guns serial number "892". European walnut with tiger striping, checkered side panels, straight hand diamond grip is finished with a checkered wooden extension. Splinter forend with Anson styled push button release is engraved. Internal forearm metal is blacked and bears the guns serial number and part numbers. Gun lives in an older Leg O'Mutton case. CONDITION: Fair. Barrels with spotting, and faded black from use. Bores are very good and ring like church bells. Barrels are slightly off face. Action is sound. Triggers and ejectors are sound. Stock most likely with previous refurbishment and with marring and indications of use. Butt extension with evidence of repair at toe. Older looking forend with small dings. Case with signs of heavy use and repair.
