Outstanding high condition specimen of a RIA manufactured M60 machine gun. This gun needs no introduction to the modern machine gun enthusiast. It was the mainstay belt fed machine gun for the United States military throughout the latter part of the 20th century and continued in service in some capacity into the 21st. Left side of receiver is marked, “RIA” “GENESEO, IL” with serial number. Underside of receiver marked “M-60” and “7.62 mm”. Electronic registry indicates “Rock Island Armory” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original finish with some handling marks, and loss of finish to a grey patina where the belt travels through the feedway. Consignor states that this is a good running gun and this cataloger would state that that the finish loss in the feedway supports this statement. There is also some slight loss of finish at a couple points where the top cover meets the receiver. Composite parts finish near excellent. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a Full-Auto only machine gun. No modern military machine gun collection is complete without a M-60.
