Excellent example of a Spanish American War Dewey Medal with worn original ribbon and properly rim impressed naming to: "ARTHUR TURNBULL / APPRENTICE 1st CLASS". Included is the original hinged leatherette presentation case that clearly shows the ghost impression of where the medal sat for many years. Turnbull is confirmed on the USS Baltimore muster rolls as part of the ship’s company during Battle of Manila Bay in 1898.
Also included is an Admiral Dewey Reception Medal and a period litho pre-prohibition beer tray featuring Dewey in his full dress US Navy Uniform. CONDITION: Medal is excellent with nice patina to bronze. Ribbon is fragile and shattered but present. Beer tray is excellent with only the slightest wear with no restoration.
