Model PP chambered in 9mm Kurz manufactured by Walther and subsequently accepted into German military service. The left side of the slide bears the Walther banner logo followed by markings stipulating the manufacturer information, caliber designation, and model designation, above an "(Eagle)/ WaA359" waffenamt, which is also present on the left side of the frame. The right side of the slide, chamber, and barrel bear a single "(Eagle)/ N" commercial nitro proof. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black plastic grips. Slide matches the frame via the last 3 digits, which are hand-scribed on the interior. This example is listed by serial number on page 80 of "WALTHER MODELS PP and PPK: 1929-1945" by James L. Rankin. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting scattered marks from storage and handling, mild edge wear, as well as thinning and wear on the grip straps that show through to a pleasant brown patina. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp, well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit scattered nicks and dings from storage and handling but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very nice example of a scarce German World War II acceptance proofed, 9mm Kurz, Walther Model PP semi-automatic pistol.
