Extremely fine and desirable cased pair of Imperial Grade Aguirre and Aranzabal (AYA) side-by-side shotguns made to order in Eibar, Spain, circa 1978 to 1983. Guns are a matched pair with gun No. 1 fit with blued 26" steel chopper lump barrels with raised concave rib marked "AYA-AGUIRRE & ARANZABAL-MADE IN SPAIN" with number "1" in gold with floral engraving, 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, and fixed Modified and Improved Cylinder chokes; gun no. 2 has same dimensions except marked with a gold "2" on rib. Both guns feature case-hardened full coverage floral engraved sidelock action with detachable sideplates, double triggers with hinged front trigger, and top tang nonautomatic safety with guns inlaid in gold on opening lever with "1" and "2" respectively. Both guns have fine hand-rubbed finished European checkered walnut English grip stocks with diamond carving behind the lock and solid red rubber recoil pads with original owner-marked vanity plates. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearms with plunger release numbered in gold "1" and "2" respectively. Guns are housed in a maker-marked 2-gun leather trunk case. CONDITION: Overall excellent with light handling marks with excellent bores and mechanics. Case is in great condition with light edge and handling wear.
