Lot consists of 3 Colt pythons, all engraved by Mike Sawmiller, who hand engraved all three revolvers in approximately D-class coverage with Nimschke style American scroll and geometrics. (A) Standard 6" manufactured in 1978 with adjustable rear sight, serrated front sight, grips with checkered relief carved panels and inset golden Colt medallions. Flowing foliate scroll in Nimschke's iconic style is accented by a punch dot background, clever shading, and geometrics, including several of Nimschke's starbursts. (B) 4" manufactured 1972 with adjustable rear sight, serrated front sight, finger groove grips of a well-grained wood, with inset silver Colt medallions. This revolver is engraved in the same fashion as (A) with Nimschke's scroll and geometrics. (C) Engraved in a more New York style than the other 2, with the scroll masterfully engraved but utilizing crosshatch shading and hatch shading instead of punch dots. Front sight replaced with an undercut blade, similar to the 1911 National Match undercut front sight. (A) and (B) are accompanied by letters from Tyler Gun Works listing these guns by serial number, and indicating that Tyler Gun Works performed the engraving and bluing, with the engraving listed as C+ Nimschke inspired patterns cut by Mike Sawmiller; (B) is also referred to as fit it with "Smooth Target" grips. Amusingly, the letters incorrectly refer to the guns as Smith & Wesson Model 29s at one point. CONDITION: All guns are excellent, retaining virtually all of the blued finish from after their engraving with only very minor marks from handling and operation. Grips are in commensurate excellent condition. Bores all have visible rifling; (A) and (B) also have moderate frosting, which is milder in (C). A very well-displaying trio.
