Lot consists of: (A) Document fragment that contains the signature of Benjamin Franklin's wife, Deborah. The fragment contains about 26 words in her hand. 1 tear minutely affects the "D" of the signature. Mounted on a sheet that identifies the signer. Scattered light stains with bold ink. Nice example of a seldom encountered signature. CONDITION: Good. (B) Portion of folio leaf dated 1 April 1751 and signed by Philip Syng, maker of the Declaration of Independence ink well. Syng was a silversmith in Philadelphia and a close associate of the Franklin family, also conducting electrical experiments. 1 significant tear that does not affect the signature. Contained in Sotheby's folder. CONDITION: Good. (C) 2 pages of early American printing from "History of the People Called Quakers" by William Sewel. Printed by Samuel Keimer in association with Ben Franklin, at the time Franklin was Keimer's journeyman. Edge wear with scattered staining and blemishes. With an engraving of Ben Franklin in good condition. CONDITION: Good.
