Wonderful early Black Forest carving of a spaniel dog with inkwell, grasping a log pen rest. This is the larger sized example with hinged head missing the glass inkwell. Glass eyes make the carving life-like, and the entire carving is in amazing detail. CONDITION: No damage or repair, inkwell is missing, some ink staining to the wood under the hinged head and not seen when closed. A great example of this inkwell.
Condition: (Excellent).
