P.08 manufactured by Mauser in 1940. The receiver is stamped "1940" over the chamber, with the faint remnant of an "(Eagle)/ N" commercial proof present on the left. Right side bears a spurious police "(Eagle)/ C" proof. Toggle bears the Mauser banner logo. Metal components have been reblued and polished at one point. The frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. The left side of the frame retains its sear safety. Front sight band appears to have been sleeved onto the barrel. Matching numbers are present on the frame, sideplate, trigger, hold-open latch, safety lever & bar, receiver, sear bar, toggle assembly, and firing pin. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patina and some areas of mild pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing, with the left panel bearing a loss to the rear of the safety lever.
