Lot consists of: (A) Civil War era pair of officer epaulettes with eagle buttons contained in their original japanned tin case. No rank insignia applied. The epaulettes exhibit a pleasant patina with intact and untangled gilt fringe. Left epaulette is missing pad on underside. Tin is marked by Horstmann Bros on lid. Cases exhibits scattered scuffs and scratches. CONDITION: Good. (B) Civil War era Army officer's pair of epaulettes with eagle R buttons intended for officers of riflemen units. Fringe measures 2 - 1/2" in length denoting rank of captain. The pair each retain their yellow pads. Light patina with vibrant colors and gilding. Tastefully displayed in a riker mount. CONDITION: Very good. (C) Civil War era Army General's epaulette with 3 - 1/2" bullion fringe Thick crescent with eagle buttons. The epaulette is mounted to a board and after inspected without the glass appears to be complete with its red pad underneath. Nice patina with scattered light blemishes. Faint evidence that insignia was removed. CONDITION: Very good.
