Lot consists of: (A) Attractive circa 1820s US mounted officer's sword that features a curved blade with wide fuller. Blade is decorated with about 25% of its length with beautifully etched panels that foliate motifs with a panoply of arms at center of etching on obverse and 13 6-pointed stars on reverse. Steel stirrup hilt with dove head pommel and full backstrap that accommodates the grooved bone grip. Complete with steel scabbard with 2 carry rings. Blade remains bright with evidence of older polishing after decorations. Etched panels remain crisp and unmolested. Hilt also exhibits old polishing, as well as scabbard body. CONDITION: Good. (B) Circa 1820s mounted officer's sword that features a curved blade with wide fuller. Blade is decorated with about half of its length with patriotic and foliate motifs. Silver stirrup hilt with crossguard and knucklebow exhibiting nicely engraved designs. Decorated dove head pommel with backstrap that accommodates the fat ivory grip. The blade exhibits evidence of polishing with muted decorations and scattered blemishes. Hilt also exhibits evidence of an older cleaning. Grip with honey patina, a few hairlines, and 1 crack that travels the length of the grip. CONDITION: Good.
