Accles feed "donut" drum magazine marked "PAT. DEC. 18. 1883." at the base. Rotary type magazine for the Model 1883 Gatling Battery Gun that holds 104 rounds of .45-70; constructed of brass with steel slides. Rear of the drum has been painted gray at some point. The Accles feed system saw limited use with the Army, although due to the fragility of the drums under field conditions, they later converted their Model 1883 guns to the Bruce feed system. CONDITION: Very good. Brass displays a mellow mottled patina. The vast majority of the gray paint is retained on the reverse with some losses. Drum appears serviceable with no dents. A rare and desirable Gatling Gun accessory.
