1 of only 100 Artillery Lugers manufactured by Mauser under contract to the police of Bangkok in 1936. The receiver is stamped "1936" over the chamber, with a "(Crown)/ U" commercial proof on the left. Toggle bears Mauser's 6-stave banner logo. Rear of frame is stamped with a Siamese lion head within a circle, followed by Siamese numerals denoting the inventory number "265". Frame bears an extremely faint Odin import stamp just forward of the trigger guard. This example has been professionally restored, with major metal components exhibiting a deep blue finish and strawed components having been reheated. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Matching numbers include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as magazine. Rear sight is appropriately non-matching, as they were sourced from original DWM production World War I surplus. Hold-open latch is not present. Grips an unnumbered and are loosely fit. CONDITION: Excellent, as professionally restored, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some very mild edge wear and some spots of light wear from operation of the action. Strawed components are excellent as reheated. Very bright bore, exhibiting mild surface level pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing and a couple of scattered marks from handling and storage but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. An extremely scarce, attractive, and professionally restored example of a Mauser Bangkok police contract Artillery Luger.
