Circa 1903. A vintage water fowling game gun with nitro proof 32" blacked barrels with ejectors and 2 - 7/8" chambers. Barrels are fit with a wide tapering flat top machined rib with extension and round steel front bead sight. Tops of barrels read "W.&C. SCOTT & SON MAKERS LONDON - ENGLAND". Bottoms read "SPECIAL STEEL", "71913" (for serial number). Barrel flats with appropriate proof marks and read "NITRO PROOF", "SHOT 1 1/2 OZ MAX". Chokes are Full and Full. The box lock action with 50% remaining case colors is wisely built with crossbolt locking mechanism, double triggers, engraved and checkered top lever, and an engraved scored and checkered slide safe. "SAFE" is engraved. Gun is auto safe. Action, fences, and bottom are engraved with light scroll. Side walls of action are also engraved "W.&C. SCOTT & SON". Water table marked with guns serial number "71913" and with company name, patent, and proof stamps. Triggers protected by blacked scroll engraved guard which extends to full length bottom strap which is scroll engraved and bears the guns serial number "71913". The vintage brownish blonde stock with English flat top checkering on its full pistol grip is also nicely appointed with diamond grip shape through wrist. Pistol grip with horn grip cap. Toeline of stock with silver colored vacant oval and finished by a tanned brown leather covered pad. Wide and short splinter forend with semi-smooth checkering, Deeley latch release, escutcheon, and iron metal. Exterior metal hardware all scroll engraved. Interior with traces of case colors and gun's serial number. Gun resides in newer oak and brown leather case with brass snap caps, oil bottle and cleaning cloth. Case lid with newer paper case trade label and charge card. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with lots of original color and bores are very good. Action, trigger and ejectors are sound. Stock and forend good with evidence of age and use. Case is excellent. Nice gun.
