Rifle was shipped from the Winchester warehouse June 1, 1915 to Edward Cave of Mamaroneck, New York, author of several period Boy Scout manuals. As standard with .33 WCF chambering with a blued 24" round nickel steel barrel with half-length magazine tube. Redfield front sight, the rear dovetail sight filled in with a blank. Rifle features a period Winchester A5 scope for sighting. Blued takedown frame with case-hardened hammer and lever. 2-piece straight grain walnut stocks with an added sling swivel and brown Winchester recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine. Rifle retains the vast majority of its lustrous factory blue, some areas starting to thin to gray patina with some scratching. Strong traces of mellow case colors visible on hammer and lever. Stocks show some field use, remaining very good overall. Lightly frosted bore showing strong, well-defined rifling. Crisp mechanics. Optic is clear for its age, but would likely benefit from a professional cleaning.
