Approximately 3,100 manufactured circa 1870 to 1882 by James Reid of Catskill, New York. Fit with a 5-shot blued cylinder retained by a reverse threaded cylinder pin, each marked with the last 2 digits of the serial number, "51". Silver plated brass frame with scroll and line engraving, as well as a finger loop which doubles a brass knuckle. Housed in a contemporary fitted hardwood case. CONDITION: Fine. Portions of factory blue are retained on the cylinder with the balance exhibiting a gray patina. The frame exhibits significant portions of silver finish, showing through to golden patinaed brass in some areas. Mechanically fine. Case is very good.
