Made by Colt Firearms in 1901, and originally shipped to Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Speer Hardware Company. At a later date, this gun was engraved by legendary frontier Texas engraver Cole Agee. This fine revolver comes with a confirmation letter from Jink Howard, who wrote the book "Cole Agee: Texas Engraver" on this gun's authenticity; there is a picture of Mr. Howard holding this gun, and this gun is pictured on pg. 41 of said book. Engraved with full coverage of florals, gold-washed "32 W.C.F." marked barrel fitted with standard blade front sight and Colt two-line address. Gold-washed frame with floral engraving, matching serial numbers on receiver, trigger guard, and butt. Backstrap engraved with floral pattern and gold-washed cylinder with full floral engraving. The gun is fitted with period buffalo-carved pearl grips, also thought to be done by Agee. Comes with a Colt letter verifying shipment and manufacturing date. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick Collection CONDITION: 90% original gold wash finish on action with light handling marks and some areas on the gun with gold flaking, most noticeable spot on the cylinder. Good grips with sharp carving, starting to yellow from handling. The frosted bore with visible rifling and good mechanics with all 4 click positions. A great gun done by a very colorful individual.
