Made by Colt Firearms Company in 1862 with "E" under serial number to indicate engraving. 6" blued octagonal barrel with German silver blade front sight. Barrel has Colt's New York address on top, and floral Young-style scroll with animal head scenes on the right and left panels. Case-hardened finished frame with full coverage of Young-style floral engraving. Blued Stagecoach scene matching serial numbered cylinder; silver-plated brass grip and trigger guard. Factory ivory 1-piece grip with all matching numbers and all correct markings. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Overall, 80% original factory barrel finish with areas worn to plum brown from handling and holstering. 20% visible fading case colors. Sharp engraving. Silver plating is still 90% visible on brass parts. Good grips with old patina and some cracking at the butt. Good mechanics with pits in the bore with visible rifling and markings. A very desirable Colt.
