Circa 1857. Desirable 6" polished blue octagon barrel with New York address, pin front sight, and hammer notch rear. Cylinder rolled with stagecoach holdup scene. Case hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever. Grip straps are silver-plated brass with 1-piece varnished walnut grips. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains the majority of its brilliant factory blue, the balance fading to gray patina. Cylinder displays a sharp cylinder scene and traces of factory blue, having largely faded to patina. Case colors remain strong and attractive. Grip straps retain the vast majority of their thinning silver plate. Grips are very fine with some varnish loss and light impressions. Sharp, bright bore. Mechanically fine. Matching numbers observed throughout. A very nice '49 pocket.
