Manufactured in 1931 in classic configuration with blue finish and standard sights. Mounted with 2 piece mother of pearl grips featuring an expertly relief carved Chinese dragon on either side with ivory eyes. These 1903 Pocket Hammerless pistols were very popular with US Army and Marine Corps officers stationed in Asia pre-World War II, and these grips were likely carved for a GI during the 1930s-1940s who brought them back on his commercial pistol. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining with light handling marks throughout. Grips are excellent with no major signs of distress. Mechanically excellent. Bore is bright with sharp rifling.
