High condition specimen of a Colt 1921 Thompson without a Cutts Compensator (actually a 1921A model). No information listed in Gordon Herigstad's serial number listing of serial numbers and histories. The clarity of the markings and "JHB" markings is nothing short of spectacular. This gun retains its original 1921 internal parts and correct "anchor" marked original buttstock. Typical markings on receiver with visible serial numbers matching. Crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. 1 original high condition 1920-1921 patent date 20-round magazine is included. The Thompson machine gun spans a range across several collecting genres, with plenty of variations and accessories to appeal to a wide range of collector/investors. Electronic NFA registry indicates "COLT" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent deep lustrous blue restored finish with slight loss of finish at the stock attachment points. Upon closest possible observation one can see a ding on the lower below the patent marks. Wood is extremely fine, very lightly sanded with some light handling marks, and some small diagonal gouges on the right side of the pistol grip. Bore is near mint, shiny and bright. Bolt is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2023-12-11
