German WWII Polizei M40 double decal combat helmet marked "SE66" for the maker "Sachsische Emailler", in a shell size of 66, with a lot number of "4961". Shell retains 90+% of its original smooth gray-green paint, with light wear and scattered marks, white paint, and very light freckling scattered throughout. Interior retains approximately 95% of its untouched smooth gray-green finish, with scattered marks and very light freckling. An illegible German name in pencil is on the inner shirt. Both the party and police decal are 95+% with their era-applied lacquer coating. Original undisturbed aluminum liner band is present, and the date was not checked. Rivets are undisturbed. Medium brown leather liner is intact with heavy staining, light rim wear, and no visible size marking. Drawstring is present. Original 1940-dated maker-marked (on buckle side) chinstrap with steel fittings is present, with light wear and moderate staining. An extremely nice untouched early war police helmet.
