Circa 1879. Vintage hammer game gun with 32" blued, nitro proofed, extractor barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers. Barrels were London proofed in 1991 for 1 oz loads. Barrels are choked Full in both barrels. Right barrel reads "BOSS & CO.". Left barrel reads 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET, LONDON.". Barrels are furnished with a smooth concave tapering rib and with a round brass front bead sight. Barrel flats are now marked "SLEEVED", "70MM", "20", "950 BAR", "LP91". Both tubes are stamped "3559". The sidelever, with low exposed hammers, is nicely designated with scroll engraving built with double triggers and long top and bottom straps. Double triggers are protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard which extends through a blacked full length bottom strap with the serial number engraved. The straight grained vintage stock with checkered English straight grip is fit with a small oval for initials or crest and finished by a leather covered recoil pad. The short forend with full coverage checkering has been built with a blacked, engraved, and checkered lever release. Exterior metal is engraved with scroll, interior has the serial number and the number 1 engraved. Gun resides in green canvas case with paper trade label, extra pair of strikers, and extra butt pad. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain most all of their color and are slightly loose. Action is sound. Stock is good with some light handling marks. Butt pad is somewhat worn around edges. Forend is good with some wear to blacking on release lever. Case is good with some evidence of storage and use. CP
