Lot consists of: (A) Type A-6A high altitude flying boots. These boots were standardized by the Army Air Forces in August 1945. The A-6A was a slight modification to the Type A-6 by providing a leather strap at the top to help keep it secure. The lower section of the boot was molded rubber with a waterproof leather upper with a shearling lining. The boot was typically worn over an electrically heated insert or standard issue low-quarter shoe. This pair is in standard configuration with its original spec tag marked as a size "XL 9-10" by Converse. Each boot exhibits the earlier Army Air Forces stamp. Leather straps are intact and secured, zippers were pulled a few inches and work, but are stiff, and were not opened all the way. Slight cracking to left boot with 1 sewn repair. CONDITION: Good. (B) Type A-6 high altitude flying boots in standard configuration. The pair is mismatched, with 1 marked by by Bristolite as a size large, and the other from U.S. Rubber Co., also a size large. Each have the earlier Army Air Forces stamp, but the size of the stamp is different on each boot. Zipper pull is missing on Bristolite boot, US Rubber Co. boot zipper works. Leather is pliable with a few scattered blemishes, a nice set that was possibly mismatched by an airman when 1 boot was damaged. CONDITION: Good. (C) B-7 high altitude electrically heated flight boots for the M456a navy Colvinex electric heated flying suit. Standard configuration with stiff, but functioning zippers and original spec tag marked by Colvinex Corporation. Sized medium. Scattered cracks and scuffs with 1 glued repair. CONDITION: Good.
