Circa 1977. A modern pair of game guns by one of London's finest gunmakers with blacked 27" chopper lump nitro proofed barrels. Both sets of barrels have been built with ejectors, assisted opening, and 2 - 3/4" chambers. Barrels have been numbered "1" and "2" in gold on rib near breech in light floral scroll vignettes. Ribs are smooth, concave and taper down to small round steel front bead sights. Right barrels read "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Left barrels read "13 BRUTON STREET, LONDON". Both sets of barrel flats are marked "LP77", "NP", "12", "2 3/4" ", "3 1/4 TONS", and ".729". Both sets of barrels are choked Modified on left and Improved Cylinder on right. The coin finished hand detachable locks are handsomely engraved with various game scenes by master engraver Ken Hunt in 1977 as signed on lock plates "K.C. Hunt 77". The number (A/1) gun is nicely engraved with doves standing on perch and flying through a desert field with cactus and vacant tree. Right lock plate with darting quail through field and brush. "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" engraved at action bar. Bottom of action engraved with cock pheasant climbing out of wood. On gun (B/2) Left lock plate engraved with ducks coming in for landing over pond. Right lock plate engraved with ducks circling for landing at marshy pond. Bottom action with ring neck pheasant taking off from wooded field. Again, "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" engraved at bar. Actions and game scenes are supported bold by floral scrolls. Actions are built with gold line cocking indicators, blued pins, double triggers, and are non-auto safe. "SAFE" is in gold. Top levers are engraved and checkered and are numbered "1" and "2" in gold respectively. Double triggers are protected by right hand rolled edged guards which extend to long bottom straps. Bottom straps are engraved with bold floral scrolls and each gun's serial number. The handsome walnut stocks with straight and smoky lines are built with drop points, diamond straight hand grips, engraved (W) gold ovals and are finished with checkered butts. Splinter forends are matched by checkering and with similar grain/color. Both with gold numbered "1" and "2" escutcheons and with Anson releases. Exterior iron metal with matched bold flor scroll engraving. Interior forend metal with guns individual serial numbers. Guns reside in a double leather case with canvas outer. Case with small black and leather trade label, snap caps, cleaning rod, horn striker pot with extra strikers, and cleaning accessories. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels very good with slight signs of use and silvering at muzzles. Bores are bright. Actions, triggers and ejectors operate well with snap caps. Stocks and forends very good with slight and light handling marks. Case very good with signs of storage use. Nice pair!

CORRECTION: Forearm B has a splice repair on the left side, near tip.
