Excellent high condition Finnish Lahti anti-tank gun on its distinctive ski-bipod with 7 magazines, 2 original leather hinged magazine carriers, 2 original metal hinged magazine carriers, original one-piece cleaning rod, and original gunner’s kit box with: pull apart cleaning rod, spanner, combination brass hammer/spanner, broken case extractor, spare firing pin and spring, 20mm brush, and wood loading block. Also, 2 British 20mm cases, one with projectile, which do not fit this gun. Original muzzle cover on large muzzle break, and scarce original shoulder carrying pad strapped to gun at rear of receiver. Hard rubber shoulder rest at rear of receiver. Manufactured at the Finnish State Rifle Factory “VKT”, it is marked “20pst.kiv/39” with typical “SA” marking above serial number on left side of receiver. Barrel is "VKT" marked and numbered 2661. Designed in 1939, these anti-tank guns were not available in any quantity until the war with the Soviet Union in 1941. They were effective and useful against vehicles and light tanks, as well as in long-range sniper and bunker destruction roles. Exceedingly well made, although heavy to transport for one man, the smooth "crank to cock" action make them tremendously fun to shoot as recreational pieces. Electronic NFA registry indicates "LAHTI" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine with smooth blue original finish thinning in places to gray metal. Wooden barrel jacket is extremely fine condition with a small chip or two and some handling marks. Near excellent hard black rubber on shoulder rest. Magazines have near excellent original blue lustrous finish. Carriers are very good to extremely fine with original paint with one of the leather hinged covers completely pulled away from the body. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. These 20mm anti-tank rifles are a sought-after recreational firearm in the United States as the ammunition is still generally available, and some recreational shooters reload the cases. This is a fine opportunity for the collector who wants a finely made 20mm rifle from World War II. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A "DESTRUCTIVE" DEVICE” WHICH IS ALSO CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-05-51.
