Standard configuration British Pattern 1853 Enfield made at the Tower Arsenal in 1863. Standard 39" round .577 caliber rifled barrel with blade front sight and rear sight of correct style. Percussion action with lock marked with Crown and "1863 / TOWER" with single trigger control. Walnut unmarked standard full military stock with brass hardware and 3 iron barrel bands. Comes with steel tulip head ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good, gun has been lightly cleaned. Metal has faded to a silvery appearance with pits around breech and on lock. Brass has faded to a dull golden appearance. Replaced nipple. Wood has been cleaned, and a light coat of linseed oil applied. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics.
