An antique European, possibly French, hand-carved in maple ornate vampire hammer cross standing atop carved figure of a St. Wulmar of Samer. He is shown as a hermit with walking stick and rosary by his side. Wulmar was born in France, and entered a monastery of Hautmont in France after his separation from his wife. Later on, he retired as a hermit, and in the forests of Samer he built St-Pierre monastery. CONDITION: Minor age-related wood loss might be present due to its age and use. Looks like the figure was previously attached to the top with glue. Otherwise, hammer is in very good to excellent condition.
