Late 19th-century copy of a standard Colt Single Action Army Revolver chambered in .44-40. The 7 - 3/8" round barrel bears a single line address reading "COLT'S SYSTEM Manufactarens ANIT & CHAR E. G. E.". Blade front sight and frame notch rear. Frame marked on the left with patent dates and on the right with "44 CAL." designation. Grips are 2-piece smooth walnut artfully inlaid with central horn stars and bone hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades gambling motifs. CONDITION: Good. Metal exhibits a gray patina throughout, with areas of the barrel mixing with chemically turned patina. Grips are very good, displaying a lovely period appearance, with bone inlays developing a rich honey color. Trigger is crude and is likely a replacement. Strong, lightly frosted bore with a few abrasions. Good mechanics.
