Manufactured circa 1883 with features including single line barrel address, 3 line patent date, and walnut grips. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel underneath ejector rod housing, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and butt. Marked "AMEXCO 2491" on underside of barrel and marked "AMEXCO" on butt. Right grip panel is also faintly marked "AMEXCO". CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finishes turned into a gray-brown patina with heavy freckling throughout. Grips are well worn, with left grip panel showing a repair near where the grips and frame meet. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is lightly frosted and mostly bright with sharp rifling. A very interesting American Express Co. marked Single Action Army.
