DSP. C. 1920's Porcelain Sign for Standard Oil Of New Jersey showing Standard Gasoline & Polarine Motor Oils. CONDITION: Side one is overall fair showing good color & gloss with moderate surface scratching in the field as well as minor areas of light nicks. Side one shows mounting hole wear as well as a heavy chip at the upper edge. Side one shows an added hole at the lower edge, (Score 81). Side two also shows very good color & gloss with chipping in the field as well as heavy spider-webbing in the porcelain. Side two shows mounting hole wear as well a chipping along the outer edge, (Score 79). Although worn the piece displays nicely and is an early example of Porcelain Advertising from Standard.
