Of standard configuration, tapered round barrel with Tower proofs on left side, towards breech. Flat lockplate marked "Tower" at tail and engraved with crown over "GR" in center. Stamped below pan with crown over broad arrow ordnance mark. Standard brass mounts with original iron belthook on left side, tail marked with "(crown) / 6". Walnut stock with relief carved apron around barrel tang, marked with several storekeepers and inspector's marks. Replacement brass-tipped wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel and lock mostly bright, excellent markings, lock crisp and functions well. Pommel cap has a darker patina, rest of furniture polished. Stock has a heavy coat of crazed finish. A very nice example of this widely-used Napoleonic pistol.
